Sketches and Challenges!

Hello,
I am once again trying to play catch up with some challenges!
Today I have a card for The Male Room challenge and I missed the posting deadline but wanted to link to the site because it is fun and gets me to really think about some of the elements for a guy card!http://themaleroomchallengeblog.blogspot.co.uk/2014/09/challenge-19-use-metal.html

The paper is from a DCWV stack and the stamp is by CTMH.

Next I have the 2 most recent sketches at OWH:

240

And the OWH Mid-month Throwdown was to make an card with autumn colors. I made a few...and wanted to make them non-specific to fall so that they can be used anytime!

I mailed a box to Sandy at Operation Write Home this week. Now I need to decide if I should make a few more Christmas cards and get them to Sandy by October 10...or do I go with non-seasonal cards?
Have a great week and thanks for stopping by!

Mo Manning Challenge

Welcome!  Today I am using a Mo Manning digital stamp. I typically use clear and rubber stamps but I do have a short list of favorite digital artists and Mo Manning is at the top of that list! I have a few of her artwork in 'real' stamps- I am pretty sure they are all by Penny Black- but I really like being able to re-size her digi images. I have been playing with some different challenges lately so I decided to join in with the current challenge at http://mosdigitalchallenge.blogspot.com/2014/09/challenge-237-fallautumn-with-mo-image.html

I love corn on the cob and I adore a fall harvest! I remember taking the girls (pre-Tessa) to a corn maze and having so many laughs. Yes- we do have fun- to quote my sister Denise! This gal made me think of Paige, guiding us thru the maze! Look at that face--and I love her crocs!  She is colored with Copics on X-Press It paper, the ovals are cut with Spellbinder dies. The patterned paper is from a New Bloom 6x6 pad purchased from Oozak.com. Gotta love Rusty at Oozak- he is my copic supplier and I usually get great papers, dies and stamps there, too! Fabulous selection and prices and the fastest shipping ever!
Have a wonderful weekend and thanks for stopping by!

The Male Room, Words to Scrap By & the Monthly OWH ODBD Challenges

Hi, I have a few more cards and challenges to share today.
You really should go to The Male Room and check out their challenges. Some of us struggle to make cards for the gents and this site helps us to create better guy cards! The design team is so inspirational but you also need to look at all the cards of the ladies who participate in the challenges. Loads of creativity and thinking outside the box over at http://themaleroomchallengeblog.blogspot.co.uk/
The current challenge is to make an autumn card...now my first thought was to make a football card- fall, the US, football- perfect! But then I thought- I am doing these challenges to push myself creatively so I went a different route.  Since I send my cards to OWH, I wanted to stick with a useful sentiment.  I think the crimped paper and the CTMH triangle embellishments add to a more masculine feel.  I placed the Elizabeth Crafts peel offs on to Copic Xpress It paper and colored them with Copics. The sentiment was stamped on vellum.

Words to Scrap By also has a seasonal challenge this month so I went more girly this time with a MFT Pure Innocence stamp.

And finally we have this month's Our Daily Bread Designs challenge at Operation Write Home...create our own background. I used distress inks and a stencil and then cut the panel. I adhered it to black paper then used Delicata Gold ink thru another stencil.

Thanks for visiting,
Diane

Cards in Envy Challenge

Welcome! The recent challenge at Cards in Envy is a School Colors Challenge! My school colors were red and white and yes, I was a cheerleader so this Sweet November image by Amy Young called my name!  I kept the layout super simple so the cute gal can take center stage!

Go over and join in on the challenges at
I am sure you will be inspired to create!
Thanks for stopping by...I have other cards to post- so come back soon!

Art Impressions and Julie Nutting Prima Stamp

Happy Labor Day!
I have enjoyed the long weekend- spending time with family and friends!  I managed to squeeze in a little time at my LSS Absolutely Everything and purchased some new stamps and more paper! I was going to live without the paper but Paige was with me and I told her to pick out some paper and she did a fabulous job!

I used a recent OWH sketch for the first card made with the Prima stamp. I love that these stamps are also sized for A-2 cards...even without a face- I love the images!  I rotated the sketch... this is one I will use again! I used Copic X-press it for my image, tuxedo black Memento ink and papers from American Crafts 'spooky'.  Clear glaze from Sakura on the bat and her shoes added some shine.
237

I could not resist the sweet images from Art Impressions Mini Front and Backs...Elf and Reindeer set along with the matching dies. And this was perfect for the challenge posted at AI http://artimpressionsstamps.blogspot.com/2014/08/challenge-143-front-back-challenge.html
My photo is crooked since the reflection from my light kept showing on the acetate window. I used papers from Jillibean Soup; winter tortellini and spinach soup 6x6 pad. The window, drapes and tree dies are all by Memory Box. I perched the cute deer on top of a snow bank....love his face!

I continue to make cards for OWH-even though they need less cards- that is a great thing! I feel like I now have more time to make cards for special people in my life.... I have a care package ready for the post office and I will be adding some cards to that box...with the hopes that the recipient sends the cards to someone very special! I do not to post too much and ruin the surprise but I will post more information soon! LOL
Have a wonderful week,
Diane
