Operation Write Home Sketch #244

Happy Monday! This weekend OWH posted another great sketch. Marlene was our sketch master for a while and I want to thank her for all her hard work and fun stories! Sybrina is taking over the reins and she did a great job with her first sketch!

OWH Sketch 244

I found an older pad of DCWV paper in my stash recently and have been using some of it lately- I love the glittery happiness of the striped paper and love that the glitter is embedded into the paper! The layered hearts on the bottom left were coated with glossy accents to make them super shiny.

I recently stumbled onto another challenge site that is all about birthday cards- lots of fun! These little mice are so cute...hopefully this could be a card for a girl or a boy- into my OWH box it goes!

And I also made a card to play along with Di...I so enjoy her blog and seeing her creations and the ladies who play along in her playground!  I found a piece of watercolor paper I made a while back...{under a pile of other papers!} and I really liked the colors in the paper so I used it on the focal panel. The sentiment is by MFT and I think it is a message that reminds me to sometimes just slow down and really appreciate things! I colored a piece of May Arts white ribbon with a few copics-super fast and easy to create a matching ribbon.

Well, I should be started on my Christmas candy by now- or even wrapping my presents-but I would rather be making cards! My plan for this evening was to make candy and then wrap while I catch up on some TV but....not tonight!  Hey, somehow it all gets done and I am looking forward to another wonderful Christmas this year.  I hope you are further along than I am and if you are not- I hope you are not stressing about it!
Have a wonderful week!
Thanks for stopping by,
Diane

  1. Hi there Diane. When I clicked on your link it took me to what Firefox warned was an untrusted site - goodness know what was going on there, bet it's blogger yet again. Anyhow, I came to you from a previous playground link just fine and have also amended the link in Mr Linky. Just thought you might want to know in case other folk are having problems from the other challenges such as Seize The Birthday. In fact I just went and checked and the STB link is working just fine.

Enough of the rabbiting from me, I adore this card - such a lovely design and glorious colours. And thank you so much for the really sweet words!

    Hugs

    Di xx

  2. Diane, Great array of card here. I also love that glittery paper on your first card and great thought to add G.A. to your hearts. I love those mice and you did a super nice job with them. You third card is stunning with your watercolor paper and the colored ribbon. Your sentiment on that card is amazing in itself. Your candy sounds delish!! Enjoy it or whatever you decide to do today.

  3. Hi Diane, such lovely cards you've created and I adore both! The pink, of course, is my favourite colour but the mice are fabulous and I love the colours and blending on the final card very much! Thankfully 99% of our cards have been sent by now and I am so happy that I made sure that I created them throughout the year and that has been a lot less stressful! Thank you so much for the lovely and so kind comment you left on my blog - it means a lot to me sweetie so thank you! Didn't make it out yet but hope to do so tomorrow! Have a lovely day huni Karen xx

  7. Diane,

Had to LOL about all the things you should be doing when what you really want to do is make cards. We've been having the same conversation in our house.

Love that card! I have that same pad of paper, but would have never thought to use the bar-striped sheet the way you did. Great job!

    Merry Christmas!
