I hope you had fun looking at all the creations at OWH's Top 13 of 2013 bloghop! I still have several blogs to check out---but so far-I have seen loads of creativity and wonderful cards! Go to the OWH blog and spend some time there...you will be very inspired!
Two of the great contributors to OWH have started a new challenge blog! Yahoo for Sybrina and Bobbi! http://words2scrapby.blogspot.com/
Today is the first challenge- and it is a fun one!
The challenge is to choose a lyric from the movie and make a card based on your chosen lyric. Maybe your card will feature roses and raindrops... or kittens with whiskers... or another one of those favorite things mentioned in the song.
Well- I love this song- just ask my friend Kelly (I spent an entire weekend crop singing this- I was working on First Communion pages...girls in white dresses; I am surprised she is still my friend!). Hmmmmm, what to make? I know.... a girl in a white dress- with a blue satin sash! LOL
I took some liberties with the interpretation of a dress and chose this great MFT stamp!OK- it is a kimono- but it has a sash and I paper pieced it blue!
Have a wonderful week!

W2SB Challenge #1
So, what's the inspiration for the first challenge? Our first month's inspiration comes in the form of the song "My Favorite Things" from Rodger and Hammerstein's The Sound of Music. You know the song, "Raindrops on roses and whiskers on kittens..."The challenge is to choose a lyric from the movie and make a card based on your chosen lyric. Maybe your card will feature roses and raindrops... or kittens with whiskers... or another one of those favorite things mentioned in the song.

Diane, this is a great take on that line of that very sweet song. Nice paper piecing job. I love the two papers and your die piece. We had that same challenge over at HM&FMC a few weeks ago and I had a ball with it. There is so many ways to go with it. I am hoping to be able to enter the girls challenge this week also. I think it is going to be a fun challenge site. I assume you may be getting the storm today/tomorrow. We are slated for 12" inches. Well stay safe and enjoy the day.
ReplyDeleteWhat a fun challenge -- and what a great interpretation!
ReplyDeleteHi, Diane. Two huge THANK YOUs -- the first for being our first ever linked card and the second for such a fabulous shout out on your own blog. So, thank you, thank you! Love that your card has such a strong focal point. And, your adorable paper-pieced girl goes so well with your sentiment. Well done!
ReplyDeleteGreat take on the challenge, and I love how you added the blue sash! The black die cut piece is gorgeous!!
ReplyDeleteOh, I love that song too, and your interpretation of white dresses with blue satin sashes is great!! Fantastic card!
ReplyDeleteGreat card! I like your interpretation and the die cut background for the girl is stunning!
ReplyDeleteThank you so much for being the first person EVER to link up a card on our new blog!!! And I love your "girl in white dress(es)" - she is a great interpretation of the challenge!
ReplyDeleteThank you so much for linking your card to the inaugural Words 2 Scrap By challenge! We are thrilled to have you join us in our new venture.
ReplyDeleteIf would like to be eligible for prizes, we are requesting that you follow W2SB. Challenge winners will be invited to be Guest I-Teamers for upcoming challenges. We have fixed the issues with our follow link.
Good luck, and thanks for participating in this month's challenge!!
