After more snow this week, the sun came out yesterday and it was warm and the white stuff is melting....bring on spring!
Here is the sketch for this week from Operation Write Home:
A good sketch to use some of my smaller stamps.
I used the cute owl and birds from Swingin' By from the craft lounge. I am not loving the blue I colored for the sky on the 2 owls....it was too plain white but now there is too much blue! But I like the sketch- one I will use again!
I have been using the Bazzil marshmallow cardstock for my bases recently. I saw Kristina Werner use this and it is such a nice, sturdy paper. I like that it does not crack when I score and fold it. I tried some other heavier weight paper for my bases and it cracked even when I scored it....so that was not good! I went on the hunt for a better paper and I am very happy with this. I purchased it from Simon Says Stamp... they tend to have pretty much everything and ship quickly. I have been very happy with their products and service. http://www.simonsaysstamp.com/servlet/the45741/MARSHMALLOW-WHITE-Bazzill-Card/Detail
I need to make more Mother's Day cards...I only have a few and I want to get a package out to Kris soon!
Have a fantastic week and craft on!
Thanks for stopping by,
Diane

Love your color choices!!!
ReplyDeleteDiane this is so adorable. Those critters are so cute and love the yellow check paper for accent. Really highlights the yellow in the blue print.
ReplyDeleteThose owls are adorable! Love the colors also.
ReplyDeleteReally fun, cute card!
Love your take on the sketch! The color combo of blue and yellow is really spring like! The hexagons are cool too! Have a great day.
ReplyDeleteI like the blue background on the owls...maybe you would like a little blue in the center hexi. Love your paper choices. Tfs!
ReplyDeleteThis is an adorable card! Great color choices, they are so fun and cheerful. Someone will really smile on their birthday when they receive this.
ReplyDeleteCute card! Those hexagons are adorable!
ReplyDeleteOh, I love your color combo and how you made each section pop against the others! Very nice job! Thanks for making a difference through OWH! :)
ReplyDeleteVery cute card. I love the hexagons and the touch of blue you added.

ReplyDeleteSuch a cheery card! I love the colors and think it looks good with the blue background! The yellow and blue combination really makes the card stand out! Thanks for sharing!
ReplyDeleteI think the blue sky looks just fine! The light blue is in the background paper and what really makes it work are the thin outlines. Thanks for the tip on the cardstock base paper too!
ReplyDeleteI really like the stamps that you used on your card. Thanks for the info on the cardstock that you use. Very helpful.
ReplyDeleteNice Choice of dp, just enough contrast without being busy! The stamps are great focal points! TFS!
ReplyDeleteJust adorable! Thanks for sharing the info about the cardstock, always on the lookout for that (totally understand about the "cracking").
ReplyDeleteFantastic card Diane!!
ReplyDeleteLove the bright colours and those owls are just adorable!!
