Ahhhh, the wearing of green day! Hope you are all having a happy and safe day!
Today I made 2 cards based on today's sketch at OWH:
I guess I am in a cricut kind of mood. The puppy, bone and United States were all cut on the cricut-using Paper Pups, A Child's Year and Stand and Salute. And have I told you how much I love my Gypsy? I just searched for dog bone, found one I liked, re-sized it- viola! The patterned paper on the puppy card is all from an old SEI 12x12 kit. The map paper is from Teresa Collins- and the red check is the reverse side of the map. The sentiment on both are from MFT...2 different sets.

I think I am going to take off the hearts on the bottom- they look kind of random! Almost like the dreaded sneeze! LOL
HERE IS MY EDIT: Thanks to ideas from Sarah and JoAnn, I did some reconstructive surgery. I took off the hearts and replaced the red brad with a heart brad. OK- I have just about every stinkin supply known to a papercrafter...did I have a red heart? Nooooooo, but I had a gold one- so I covered it with a red glaze pen. And hey- and I think the lighting is better on this pciture! You may be able to see some of the blue on the map paper- which is why I chose to cut the USA in blue! Thank you OWH bloggers for your helpful input!
Thanks for stopping by!
Have a great week and craft on,
Diane
Hi Diane,
ReplyDeleteBoth of these cards are great. The dog lover in was immediately drawn to the first card. (Why is it that I feel myself coming down with another case of Cricut envy?)
SO cute! What if you moved the hearts along the side of replaced the big brad? with a heart? Just a thought-- but I do LOVE that card!
ReplyDeleteOh that first one is so darling! I'm definitely going to have to drag out my cricut again! I also really like the second one, but I think Sara's suggestion about replacing the brad with a heart would work well not just for design, but with the sentiment.
ReplyDeleteSarah and JoAnn- thanks for the advice- I made the changes and I am so much happier with the card! JoAnn- I go thru phases with my cricut- but I always have fun with it! Thanks again!
DeleteBoth of these cards a super nice, Diane. I love that dog and bone as well as the paper in your first card. The first version of your second card seemed fine to me but I understand how some times we are just not pleased with our own work. the suggestions from Sarah and JoAnn were great ones and I also like the revised version. I love the sentiment on this second card. Perfect for our heroes.
ReplyDeleteThat little doggie pulled over here today! So cute and from the cricut no less. Maps card "red glaze heart" came out nice.
ReplyDeleteThese are so darn cute! Love the revised card - yay for helpful owh friends. :)
ReplyDeleteLove both of your cards! The puppy card is so cute and playful, and the map card is just perfect! It's amazing how some small changes can make such a difference! I agree with you about the Gyspy...very handy for searching and resizing!
ReplyDeleteHow cute is that dog?!? Really nice cards!!
ReplyDeleteSuper job on the redo! Great cards! tfs!!!
ReplyDeleteYour first card was good, but the the redo is fabulous! I often "remake" my cards. The OWH community is great!
