Are you ready for another sketch?

Well, it is Sunday so that means Marlene has found us another sketch and it is from a card made by Sandy Allnock, founder of OWH. Look at her coloring on that elephant- perfection! You can see more of Sandy's fabulous creations at

I just purchased a Doodlebug paper pad so I used that on my first card, along with a high flying monkey from Mama Elephant. I popped him up a little so it would seem like he was hanging onto the banner for dear life...the little chimp wants to make sure the card recipient is aware he or she is so very loved!

My next card features an older stamp from Hero Arts-- it was a single duck and I stamped it 3 times. I wanted to use the sentiment from Paper Smooches so I decided to make one of the ducks different....I originally colored it orange with green polka dots but I did not like it. It was almost a huge failure but I did not want to start again.  I re-stamped an image, colored it the same blue as some of the stars, fussy-cut it and glued it down- and now I like it!
I need to stamp and tuck a few more cards then my box is ready to be mailed to Sandy. I made some flip cards with a Sizzix die- but I cannot get them to stay flat enough for me to get a good picture! LOL  I like flip cards- I imagine families like to get a card with movement once in a while- especially kids!
Have a wonderful week- and happy Spring! Yahoooo!
Thanks for stopping by,

  1. Love both of these cards. That chimp is darling hanging onto that banner for dear live. I adore the sentiment also. You second card came out great. It's always nice when you can salvage something you are not totally pleased with. You did a fantastic job here and the blue duck goes so well with the sentiment. Have a good week. Hope we don't get snow.

  2. Two really cute cards. Love how your little chimp is hanging onto that banner as though his life depended on it. :)

  3. OMG the monkey card is absolutely perfectly adorable. WTG!

  4. These are adorable, Diane! I love how the monkey is hanging on for dear life! LOL

  5. I agree with what everyone else says about that monkey card! Anything is worth hanging in there for, right? Cute idea, great card! I love the blue quacker with the yellow ones too - and I'm glad you managed to save it all with that brilliant idea! Nice job on both cards!

  6. Great combinations of decorative papers/colors on your adorable cards =)

  7. Wonderful cards! I love how all the paper colors work well together with your images. :)

  8. Both of these are terrific! I love the sweet monkey and you did a fantastic 'save' on the duck!!
